A little over half a year later in 2023, countless test pieces and many, many hours of work later, the result of our joint efforts is tangible—a kind of collaborative synthesis. The possibility of combining calligraphy and ceramics provides fertile ground for many discussions and ideas on how to reinterpret and further develop traditional fields of design.
The results, a series of large-format vessels and a variety of smaller drinking vessels, invite contemplation and a wide range of interpretations of their use. Each of the ceramics is unique. Thanks to the hand-turning by Alexandra Wegner and Jorinde Ortlieb, as well as the individual calligraphy by Ole Freytag for each object, no two pieces are alike.
